Not too sure what to think of this trip. Unlike our usual vacations, this feels more like a mission. Guess I just have to keep reminding myself, this is more than just for me, for fun and pleasure, but for the greater good.
11:30 Once again, I’m still at home last minute packing. Ended up taking a taxi to the airport, instead of the Skytrain, because I didn’t want to park there car there for such a long term, cost aside. I was so drowsy, I fell asleep en route in the taxi. Thankfully he got us there on time.
We were 5 minutes late and the counter was just closed. Thankfully the airport staff helped by making some calls, and just managed to get us in. Every single time I make myself promise to be early the next time, and that’s how I plan it too, but every time…sigh.
13:10 Boarded plane, take off! Off we go, yay!! I must already have tons of take off and landing videos, but they still excite and fascinate me so much. Settling in the comfort of Premium Economy, with my soft blanket and pillow, a little complimentary cosmetics bag, and ready to watch all the movies they have!
Captain Marvel. Yep, had to start with my most anticipated one. I’d probably not pay to watch it on the big screen (but I was willing to watch Endgame twice?!) but being a MCU fan, just had to watch it. Still not sure I like her character more than the original Marvel heroes, but the movie was entertaining enough.
Lunch: Beef rice, salad, chocolate brownie, whipped butter and bun (except I dropped half my butter, D=)
Mary Poppins Returns. Umm…just wanted a nice brainless children’s movie while everyone started snoring beside me. But turns out it lulled me to sleep before lights out.
17:21 A guy suddenly fainted next to us, knocked over our tea which woke me up suddenly too. He regained consciousness pretty quickly, but seemed really drowsy because he put his head back down and seemed to “fall back asleep”. Called for help couple times, but someone had to get up and actually walked up to the flight attendants before help came. By then, quite a few minutes passed and the guy had woken up and half stumbled towards the back of the plane.
19:43 Watching Mary Poppins Return…ugh…it’s dragging on but I made it this far. The rhyming is contagious though.
2011 Aquaman. Another heroes movie I missed on the big screen, but finally got to watch. The back story did drag out a bit and the action wasn’t as well done as Marvel, but it was good enough. Plus my blankets were still wet from where the guy knocked over our tea, so the underwater scenes felt 4D at least.
23:15 How to Train a Dragon: Hidden World. Gah, I know most people dread long haul flights, faster flights mean less movie time! Only watched the ending of it, and it was with major distractions as I also tried to film the landing of our plane.
23:59 Landed in KIX! Japan, we’re here again.
