Attended my dear friend’s wedding two days ago. I still remember how we first met. Our university program wanted us to represent our program, and picked one rep each from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th intake, and we hit off from right there. We even ended up taking the mtr home together and on our way back talked about our boyfriends. Even then I’d known they’d been together for comparable length of time. But two days ago, they’ve tied the knot. What have we done with our time?
There’s nothing that screams “RUN!!!!” in your face more than seeing your peers, those that grew up with you through their rebellious and teenage years, now suddenly all grown up and married, rearing kids and building families. And what have we done with our time?
When your beautician can sell you packages that cost an arm and a leg each, but they all sound enticing, simply because straightening out that wrinkle and flattening out those eye bags, all feel necessary. Smothering the evidence left of the decades gone by. So what have we done with our time?
Why the rush, enjoy your life! Why run a race that society and Mother Nature dictates? Just because every other person is making this mad dash, doesn’t meet I shouldn’t sit back and relax. But when you look back. What have we done with our time?
Ha – I liked this. You’ve capture the essence of modern life really well and utilised the word prompt cleverly!
