11:02 Finally left our house and just missing mcgriddle time 😧. Hong Kong McDonald’s doesn’t offer this yummy breakfast burger that uses two maple honey doused pancakes instead of regular muffin buns, hence as odd as it sounds, yeah, I eat McDs in Japan. And every morning it reminds me how Japanese people are very timely and follow schedules quite strictly eh. I remember running up to Canadian McD counter begging for a mcgriddle and they’d make it if they have the ingredients remaining, but no chance of that happening in Japan, if it’s passed the time they offer it, strictly 10:30, they’re out.
11:20 Kawaramachi (河原町) stn by Hankyu limited express line to Umeda station, 400円!
Hankyu Line
12:05 We already arrive to Umeda station. Our lodging this time is so efficient for Kyoto and Osaka travel.
12:30 Umeda station by 御堂筋 line (cuts thru Osaka) to Namba station. Down one flight of stairs then turn left down second stairs, to Sennichimae 千日前線 line (pink) platform one to Nippombashi 日本橋 station. Finally start our main event of the day, eating and shopping!!!!
Kuromon Ichiba Market 黒門市場. If you want good food at a reasonable price and reasonable hours, here’s where to get it! I really like eating here it’s no wonder it’s also referred to as “Osaka’s kitchen”. There’s no huge 6-hour line up like Tsukiji market, there may be less choices, but nearly everything is great!
Although we had it last time, we decided on a Toro bento, which includes toro, maguro, and some salmon. I personally find the toro amazingly delicious but the other stuff was passable (they can’t go wrong, just wasn’t wow amazing) 🍣. Next we had a unagi tempura, their chefs recommended, which was as good as usual. You can try their other stuff, and their still good, but it just wasn’t special enough for me to waste tummy space on, hehe. Next, had a watermelon juice to quence the thirst for 500円. I saw the guy refill the mixer, it’s just watermelon slices and ice, so the juice is very pure and sweet! Of course that’s also because watermelons are in season. After getting a peach soft ice cream, which was just as delectable as before, we went back for another cup of white strawberry juice 1000円. The guy remembered us and was so happy to see us again, hehe.
I know this is supposed to be the kitchen of Osaka, or maybe I’m really not that much of a foodie, but i just can’t feel enticed to must try something except for the random takoyaki and okonomiyaki.
The Glico man is back!! Last time we only got the girl, but finally found the Glico man this time!

Got faked by Hyperdia, which states last Hankyu train leaving Umeda was at midnight. Yes, that’s true, but that last train only goes to Katsura!! 😭😭😭 Was almost worried we’d have to pull another stay-the-night at a comic cafe again.
